MICCS Certification

Metro Indianapolis Coalition for Construction Safety (MICCS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving zero injury on construction and facilities maintenance job sites. MICCS is governed by a Board of Directors that represents every segment of the construction industry.   MICCS members include construction companies, users of construction services ("owners"), design professionals and construction-affiliated organizations and companies.

Safety Resources Inc. is extremely familiar with the MICCS program and we have the expertise to help your company achieve results throughout the MICCS process.  We help organizations, through this sometimes difficult pre-qualification process, in a variety of different ways and methods depending on specific need.

MICCS Qualifications /Certification 

There are three levels of MICCS participation, all of which provide an increase in value for your firm or organization.  A few of the key components to this process are the Home Office Audit or “HOA”, the Safety Program Review Score or “SPRS” and associated safety metrics like the EMR, TRIR & DART.  SRI is please to help with each of these items as needed and to provide turn-key assistance as required.

The first level is “MICCS Qualified” status which requires firms to have at a minimum;

  • EMR equal to or less than 1.0
  • A three-year average TRIR and DART equal to or less than the national average for your NAICS code
  • Have no fatalities for the past three years
  • Meet all mandatory SPRS criteria
  • Pass a Home Office Audit

The second level is “MICCS Certified” status which requires firms to have the following;

  • EMR equal to or less than 0.9
  • A three-year average TRIR and DART equal to or less than 80% of the national average for your NAICS code
  • Have no fatalities for the past three years
  • Meet all mandatory SPRS criteria
  • Score 50% or higher on the SPRS best practices
  • Pass a Home Office Audit

The final level of MICCS participation is to become a “MICCS Certified Partner” this will require your firm to meet the following guidelines;

  • Attain “Certified” status
  • Be a MICCS Association Member
  • Complete the MICCS-IDOL Partnership Agreement which includes submitting monthly safety data
  • A three-year average TRIR and DART equal to or less than the Indiana average for your NAICS code
  • Be approved by the Indiana Dept. of Labor
