Officials kicked off the construction season by breaking ground on a $143 million expansion of I-65 between Columbus and Seymour. The project includes the addition of a travel lane in each direction as well as the replacement existing pavement along the 14 mile stretch and the rehabilitation of 27 bridges.

In all, INDOT plans to resurface more than 2,200 lane miles, rehabilitate or replace 613 bridges or culverts, add 47 lane miles, and complete 52 safety improvement projects.

"Indiana is one of only a handful of states with a fully funded, long-term infrastructure plan. And, we're putting it to good use, not just for our roads and bridges—but also to attract more job creators to move and grow in our state," said Holcomb. "Working hand-in-hand with local communities, Indiana is taking care of what we have, finishing what we started and planning for the future."

INDOT has developed an interactive map for residents to view the construction projects planned in their area. You can connect to the map by clicking here.
